Preparation

asked to avoid food and liquids |

Remove jewelry and other items containing
metal and certain clothing from the area
to be scanned to prevent interference
with the quality/clarity of the images |

ULTRASOUND

Preparation
instructions vary depending on the part
of your body being scanned. In a few cases,
you may be asked to not eat or drink for
12 hours |
MAMMOGRAM
|

|
Do not use perfume, deodorant, antiperspirant
or talcum prior to the examination |
|
|
Premenstrual breast tenderness - you may
delay the scan until tenderness has subsided,
usually just after your menstrual period |
|
|
Please wear a two piece outfit |
|
|
Describe any breast symptoms or problems
to the technologist performing the exam |
|
|
If possible, obtain prior mammograms and
make them available to the radiologist
at the time of the current exam |
|
|
No special dietary preparations are necessary |
